How many loan offers you could get?

One application, more than one answer

Apply to one bank and you get one answer, and you're left to work out alone whether it's a good one. Apply through Loanify and you get a real person on your side: our team reviews your application, talks through what you need, and matches you with suitable providers. How many offers you get depends on your profile, the loan you need, and which providers are actively lending at the time. Some applicants see several offers, some see one or two, and some see none. What matters more than the count is finding the one that fits, and you don't have to figure that out alone. Key takeaways

Why the same profile gets different answers

There's no single approval standard that every provider in Singapore follows. Each one decides for itself what a good application looks like. Providers typically differ on:

What happens after you apply: you talk to a real person

You won't be left sorting through a list of offers on your own. From the moment you apply, a dedicated team assists you along the way.

  1. Apply with Singpass. You apply on our website using Singpass, so, with your consent, your Myinfo details are filled in for you instead of typed out by hand.
  2. We review your application. Our enquiry team goes through your details.
  3. We reach out on WhatsApp. A member of our team texts you to arrange a call.
  4. We talk it through. On the call, we get to know what you need the loan for and ask for any details we're missing.
  5. We match you. We match you with suitable licensed moneylenders from our partner network. Once you're matched, the provider runs its own assessment and makes the final decision. Any offer it gives you has its own terms and validity period, so check how long it stays open before you decide.

How to compare your offers side by side

The headline rate is the least useful number on an offer. Whether you have one offer or several, check these instead. If anything's unclear, our team can walk you through it:

  1. Effective Interest Rate (EIR) — the true annual cost once fees and the repayment schedule are counted. A flat rate of 5% p.a. usually works out to an EIR of nearly double that.
  2. Total amount repayable — principal plus all interest and fees. This is what the loan actually costs you.
  3. Monthly instalment — what has to fit into your budget every month, comfortably.
  4. Fees — processing or admin fees, and whether they're deducted from the amount you receive.
  5. Tenure — a longer tenure lowers the monthly instalment but usually raises the total you pay.
  6. Validity — how long the offer stays open, so you don't lose a good one while deciding. Here's how tenure alone changes the picture. Same amount, same flat rate, no fees:
Illustrative example2-year tenure3-year tenure
Loan amountS\$10,000S\$10,000
Flat rate5% p.a.5% p.a.
Monthly instalmentS\$458.33S\$319.44
Total interestS\$1,000S\$1,500
EIR (approx.)9.7%9.7%

Figures are for illustration only and are not an offer or quote. Your actual rate, fees and terms depend on the provider's assessment. The 3-year option costs S$139 less each month but S$500 more overall. Neither is wrong. The right one depends on what you can repay comfortably, and how soon you want to be done. If you're matched with a licensed moneylender, interest and fees are capped under the Moneylenders Rules. You can check the current caps and verify any moneylender's licence on the Ministry of Law's Registry of Moneylenders.

Why applying once beats applying everywhere

Applying to lenders one by one means filling in the same details again and again, chasing replies, and working out on your own which ones are even likely to consider your profile. With Loanify, you apply once with Singpass, and our team does the legwork of finding providers suited to your profile. You tell us your situation once, and we do the searching. When you accept an offer, the moneylender completes its own full assessment before approving the loan. For loans from licensed moneylenders, that includes verifying your identity in person before any money is disbursed.

What more offers doesn't mean

An offer is not an approval. It's an in-principle indication based on what you've shared, and the provider confirms it only after its full assessment. More offers also doesn't mean a better outcome. Ten similar offers tell you less than two very different ones. What counts is whether the strongest offer is genuinely competitive for your profile, and whether you can repay it without strain. And being offered a bigger amount isn't a reason to take it. Being able to borrow more doesn't mean you should borrow more. Borrow what you need for the purpose you have, at an instalment that still leaves room in your monthly budget.

Frequently asked questions

**How many loan offers will I get through Loanify?** It varies. Our team matches you with providers suited to your profile, and the number of offers depends on your income, credit history, existing commitments, the amount and tenure you ask for, and which providers are actively lending. Some applicants see several offers; others see fewer or none.
**Will I speak to a real person?** Yes. After you apply, a member of our team will text you on WhatsApp to arrange a call. You'll talk to a person, not a bot, from application to match.
**Why do I apply with Singpass?** Singpass lets us prefill your application with your Myinfo details, so applying is quicker and you don't have to type everything out by hand. Your Myinfo details are retrieved only after you give consent on Singpass's own screen, and are used only to prefill your application and support the provider's assessment.
**Why did two providers offer me different rates?** Each provider uses its own assessment criteria and has its own business priorities. The same profile can be priced quite differently depending on who's assessing it.
**Does an offer mean I'm approved?** No. An offer is an in-principle indication. Final approval comes from the provider after its full assessment, which may include document checks and, for licensed moneylenders, in-person identity verification.
**Does Loanify set the interest rate?** No. Loanify is a loan matching service, not a lender. Rates, fees and terms are set by each provider.
**Does Loanify charge me a fee?** No. Loanify is free for borrowers. We may receive a commission from our partner lenders. Any fees on the loan itself are set by the provider, so review its terms, fees and repayment schedule before you accept.
**Do I have to accept any offer?** No. You can talk it through with our team and decide not to proceed with any of them.
**Who sees my information?** Our team reviews your details to understand your needs. They're shared with our partner lenders so they can assess your application, and with service providers who support us with things like communication, hosting and security. You can withdraw your consent at any time, though this may limit our ability to keep matching or following up with you.
